I would like to make a kinetic box for so long time. Something that works, opens in a special way and has a movement that makes it magical, mystical. V.K.N.G. silver sterling wolf head amulet is mysterious and valuable so it was perfect for getting a kinetic box.
The box made from cherry wood. It is a very fine and lovely wood with pretty beautiful color and texture. I love working with it because it is hardwood, but it can be very nicely and easy carved, sanded and grated.
I made plan of box in Blender 3D software to see if it would work. The top of the box was made with a CNC cutter. This was also good because the eight piece top was able to get so detailed and accurate carving. Pretty precise enough to work kinetic properly.
Yes, I know, that is a big box for a little amulet, but it needed the size for the movement. This shows how valuable the contents of the box are. 🙂
I composed the song of this video for my daughter, so I hope this will have a good feeling on the mood of the video.
